Considering 3D CAD, but not sure if your workstation is up to speed?

Here are some quick tips to help identify your 3D CAD hardware requirements:
  • The greater the complexity of your modeling tasks, the greater your computational requirements become
  • System scalability and reliability help you manage 2D legacy data effectively
  • For maximum flexibility, choose a 3D CAD workstation that supports 64-bit applications, operating systems, and memory scalability
As a part of 3DVision Technologies on-going commitment to support our customers with the full spectrum of services and support, we are now a Dell Authorized reseller. As such we can offer our customers the top of the line Dell workstations at significantly reduced prices.

Monumental Savings – 3D CAD + Mold Simulation

At 3DVision Technologies we understand that today’s plastic part designers and injection mold makers face a unique set of industry challenges. Do your customers:

  • Demand shorter delivery times so they can be first to market with new designs?
  • Send last-minute design changes, but expect you to still meet the original delivery dates?
  • Encounter communication issues between product designers and mold-makers because the products are designed in one country but molded in another?
If your answer to any of these questions is YES, then SolidWorks CAD software combined with SimpoeWorks plastic injection simulation software just might be the right solution for you.

SimpoWorks is the only plastic injection simulation software totally embedded into SolidWorks so you never need to leave the SolidWorks interface.

For a limited time, buy SolidWorks together with SimpoeWorks and get a 20% discount.

Why Dimension 3D Printing Beats Rapid Prototyping

The Competitive Advantages of 3D Printing
An ideal complement to CAD, Dimension 3D printing offers a fast, low-cost alternative to traditional rapid prototyping for building concept and working models. Designed for workstation and network access much like a standard laser printer, Dimension 3D printing is growing in usage along with the unprecedented growth of CAD solid modeling.

Cost is a Big Difference
Both rapid prototyping (RP) and Dimension 3D printing technologies build models layer by layer from STL data. The cost difference per part between Dimension 3D printing and rapid prototyping systems can be significant. Including material, machine depreciation, system maintenance and labor, a part built using rapid prototyping technology can cost nearly twice as much compared to 3D printing. More expensive rapid prototyping systems are often centrally located with a dedicated staff functioning much like an in-house service bureau. Dimension 3D printers are smaller, more affordable and suitable for installation near an end user providing convenience and ease of use that eliminates "departmental delay."

In-house Beats Outsourced
Enlisting a service provider to build prototype parts requires exchanging confidential STL data. Turnaround time depends on the quality and complexity of the STL file and can require additional CAD work.

While there are many variables in comparing service provider costs with internal 3D printing costs, i.e., part complexity, size and tolerances, etc., a company sending one relatively simple part per week to an outside service provider could, by comparison, pay for a Dimension 3D printer in a matter of months - and maintain control and confidentiality internally.

For a limited time, 3DVision Technologies is offering Dimension leasing options through Stratasys, the system manufacturer. For more information, email info@3dvision.com and request a quote.

It’s all about the ‘Green’

We have borne witness to the devastation from the recent oil leak but how does that impact you?
Well, ask yourself;

  • During your design process do you ever wonder if the choices of your materials have an impact on the environment?
  • Are your current products environmentally friendly?
  • Do you have customers that request greener products?
  • Is it important for your company to design products that has less impact on the environment?

We all want to design better, but isn’t it time we start to design “greener”?

SolidWorks has developed an integrated product that will help your organization become an effortlessly environmentally conscious company.
